Well, I was unsure if open this blog or not, there are a lot of website who talking about self defence although most of them are bullshit, after some days of doubts I decided to do it, I said to myself "let's do it", on the other hands my passion for martial arts started more of thirty years ago, back in the 80s when for the first time I watched a Bruce Lee movie, was Fist Of Fury and after watched it, I started to said to myself, "that's is what I wanna do".
You can't blame myself, when I was a little kid all my peers wanted to be Bruce Lee, lol.
So, meanwhile the Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris movies but also the Karate Kid series made me feel a strong desire to enroll in martial arts classes, there was one other reason who pushed in me some kind of urgency to join in a martial arts school, the fact that usually I was bullied many times by others kids who were bigger and stronger then me, especially this was what lighted in me a passion who nowadays still I'm cultivating.
My first martial art was been the Shotokan Karate who I practiced for some years before to quit it, that's because was a thing who not suited me so well, I was looking for something of more realistic, something who would allowed me to cope at the bunch of bullies who were bothering me, you know, I wasn't aiming to get belts ranking, winning contests or learn enchanting Kata, neither I was interesting in those spiritual speeches which still today many martial arts environments look like to be pervaded, holy shit, all I wanted was give a lesson to all those scumbags who relentlessy were umiliating me all the time, in order to do it I needed to practicall skills and not of fancy elegant movements, it took a lot of years of study and research before I found what I was looking for.
There are a lot of martial arts, a lot of styles and depending on what are your goals, not all of them can be good for you, not because are bad, simply because are not in line with what you wanna accomplish.
Martial arts for me mean Self defence, and Self Defence mean to be able to defende myself, that's mean learn skills who work in real situations, this blog is for all who like me think that first and foremost a martial art should make you more able to defend yourself in a predicament by developing effective combat skills, improving your bodyshape and making you tougher, could be a place where we tell ours stories, about what we learned and about what in our opinion work or not work, a place where we could share our exerience and help each other to developing ourself, I learned a lot in my journey and I have a lot to share and still a lot to learn.
Well, this is my first post, my intention is to posting one time at week every monday, hoping that you will like this blog, I wish to all of you to accomplish your goals doesn't matter where you are aiming.
